Perfectly Posh is a natural based, pampering, skin care company. They have pampering products from head to toe and everything in between. “We Simply Pamper” is their motto, and they want women to relax and be pampered while sharing the pampering love with others.
The company has been in business for 5 years. It’s a very laid back company that doesn’t have too many rules and allows women to run their business in a way that works best for them individually. The Home Office even has a slide in their building! Seriously, how fun is that?!
Today, Emily from Perfectly Posh is sharing with us what she loves about the business and the unique challenges that come from growing a business in Network Marketing. Emily is a wife and mom to 2 little boys ages 2 years and just a few months!

Starting a Direct Sales Business
There were four reasons I knew I was ready to start a business with Perfectly Posh.
Family History in MLM
I come from a family of direct sales. My mom has been with Mary Kay for as long as I can possibly remember. Both my sisters were with other direct sales companies and I wanted to find something for me.
Research and Experience
I did a ton of research and reached out to the consultant nearest me. We actually had a mutual friend so I was able to do a bit of stalking before I contacted her. 😉
I ended up hosting a home party and my family and friends loved the products. I loved them too! I was convinced. I signed up that same night.
My Personal Results
I had also seen so many positive stories on how these products helped others skin issues.
I suffered from acne since I was in 5th grade. And had tried every over the counter product, online product, and even went to the dermatologist. My parents wasted so much money on products that didn’t work.
Within a month of using Perfectly Posh my skin cleared up.
Not only did it clear up but it stayed clear!
I’ve never loved my skin as much as I do now. It gave me confidence that I’d honestly never had before.
I wanted something that was affordable for my customers and that I was passionate about. When everything is under $25 how could I say no?
Plus, who doesn’t love hearing their customers own stories on how their have changed them for the better? That’s the best part!
Marketing Perfectly Posh
I try to focus 1-2 hours on doing something for my business. Whether it’s organizing my stock, making gift bags from old catalogs, or putting together sample packets.
I try not to overdo it with keeping stock unless I’m going to be doing a lot of events where people want to buy right then. I have a room downstairs that I call my craft room/office. It’s my happy place (when it’s clean). It’s exactly what I need for all my projects, including the business.
Work or play?
I don’t think of it as work. I just have fun with it.
I do most of my marketing on Facebook. I have a VIP group where I have contests and giveaways. I also have a Facebook business page.
I honestly just share the products with everyone. I post photos of me using the products (because Posh is honestly all I use now) and do reviews on new products. I try not to go overboard but my customers know how much I love, use, and back up this company and its products. Sharing is caring, right?
I work most of my business from my phone so yes, sometimes I’m on my phone more than I’d like to be. But it’s convenient because I can feed my newborn while working my business. I am trying to do better about not being on my phone all the time especially around my 2 year old. But of course I say that as I’m doing this interview from my phone. We can just call that a #MomFail. Nobody is perfect.
I also love getting to participate in company events if they’re close. In fact, I’m headed to Atlanta in March for our Day Away! They’re so much fun.
I absolutely LOVE home parties! That’s my jam! We play games, laugh hysterically, and I always make new friends. I know some people are hesitant to have home parties but the guests always have so much fun! And everyone feels so pampered and relaxed when they leave.
Also, because Posh is skin care, most people need/want to try the products first before they purchase. I’m the exact same way. So I love to bring the party to you!
Growing a Team
We have weekly trainings online. Our Home Office recently started a Podcast with business trainings from our top consultants. They are short but always have a huge impact in helping me with ideas for my business and learning more about our products so I can better help my customers.
In the beginning it is based more on personal sales. Once you grow your team and hit a certain rank it’s more about being a good leader. You want your team to succeed also because it’s no longer just about you. It’s kind of like having kids. Before kids you’re allowed to be a little self centered but after kids, you need to make sure they are taken care of also. Nobody can do it alone.
I’ve rank advanced twice! My next goal is to rank advance to Pink+2 within the next 3-4 months. I’d love to grow my team with at least 5 hard working people! If that’s you, contact me for details on how to get started!
In 2-3 years, I plan to be at Silver Premier status and earning a Tiffany & Co. bracelet! I don’t want to stop moving up. I love this business and it’s products too much to become stagnant. My goals are high and I won’t stop until I reach them!
The Truth about Network Marketing
It’s not always easy. It’s definitely fun, and you’ll meet a ton of amazing people along the way, but it is work.
Find a product that you are so passionate about you can’t help but talk about it. And be sure you have a great support system and that your sponsor is going to be there when you need it. I’ve had several consultants come to me for advice and help because their sponsor wasn’t present. It breaks my heart. As a sponsor myself I remind my team constantly that I am always here to help. All they have to do is ask.
Some people think this type of business isn’t a legitimate business and that it doesn’t require work. While it’s easier to get started than most businesses, it’s absolutely a real job! Sometimes, people with all the potential in the world get started with a business like this because they genuinely love the product but they never transfer that excitement into working the business. No matter how talented you are, the business won’t work itself.
It’s frustrating when people think Multilevel Marketing is a pyramid scheme. First of all, those are illegal! Actually, a real pyramid presented itself around Christmas last year, everyone jumped on board without hesitation all because it had “blessing” in the name.
If you want to make money from home, I believe Network Marketing/Direct Sales/Multilevel Marketing is one of the best ways possible to do it! It’s super easy to start, fun to work with other women and totally flexible!
